TU Delft vs. Kabakulak

To all students of the University of Technology Delft,

Since early December 2009 there is an outbreak of mumps among students of the University of Technology Delft. Mumps is an infectious disease caused by a virus. Mumps can be transmitted by coughing, sneezing and through saliva.

In the Netherlands and most western countries the mumps vaccine is part of the MMR vaccination against measles, mumps and rubella.

The Health Service considers it important to protect people against mumps, measles and rubella. Therefore the Public Health Service calls students who are not vaccinated (or have been vaccinated only once) to get an MMR vaccination.

Yani güzide universitemizde kabakulak salgını başgöstermiş durumda. Hollanda'da kabakulak aşısı 1983 sonrası doğumlularda yaygınlaştığı için önceki nesil sapır sapır dökülmekte (evet burada universiteyi 5 sene değil 10 sene okumak makbül).
Bizim gibi "non-western" ülkelerin mensupları daha şanslı galiba, aşı ile olmasa da hastalığın kendisi ile küçükken tanışıp bağışıklık kazandığımızdan...
